How We Came to Be
THE STORY : AS TOLD BY ELLEN WITT
Picture this... The year is 2002, and the clock reads somewhere around 3:30am on a week night. Hours have slipped away in search for unclaimed domain names. Graduation is near, and an online portfolio is a must for any design student expecting to find a job in this economy. My vision is blurry, and exhaustion is taking over as I type... SeeMyDesign. SeeMyDesigns. SeeMeDesign... and SeeMeDesign.com was born.
Upon graudation I accepted a position at a large consulting firm where I designed graphic campaigns for all sorts of gigantic corporations reaching millions upon millions. But in 2008, I chose to cut my hours and pursue my own passions, the first of which was known as Marcellina G. I was designing and selling my own jewelry designs, which I coined "Modern Vintage with a Delicate Edge," mostly because of a suggestion of a store manager at Barney's Coop who caught a glimpse of one of my pieces.

Well, Marcellina G. opened a few doors. I became a part of the ever-inspiring new world of trend-setting entreprenuers who were succeeding in their most amazing and creative endeavors. And then one day I picked up the phone to a call from Danica Winters — now a great friend and inspiration. She had been handed my Marcellina G. business card (as shown to the right) by way of Amy Leavell Bransford. Danica noticed that one of my 15 titles (if you're a small business owner, I'm sure you know the feeling) read "graphic designer." She wanted to meet — She wanted a business card JUST LIKE mine along with a new brand and style designed for her own business. I don't typically "recycle" my work, but it was such a compliment that I thought to myself... why not give the girl what she wants? We took the concept, developed it further for her business and flew with it. Things prospered. One referral led to another, and the work just kept coming.
After two years of balancing SeeMeDesign, Marcellina G. and the part-time corporate consulting job, the inevitable happened. I decided to fully dedicate myself to my own work... And that in itself became one of the best decisions of my life.
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients and vendors in addition to the recognition and support we've gotten locally, including being spotlighted in the Atlanta Business Chronicle. We would not have been able to do this without you, and we are SO looking forward to more!
